NSK introduces angular contact bearings featuring an optimised internal design

NSK’s recently launched 7300 series of angular contact bearings for industrial pumps now features an optimised internal design that is claimed to help lower running costs, to allow the downscaling of components and to save energy by extending maintenance intervals.

The angular contact bearings are designed to meet the energy-efficiency and reliability requirements of pumps in the petrochemical, pulp and paper and food industries.


The 7300 series bearings are available with bores measuring between 15mm and 80mm.

According to the company, the bearings can be retrofitted during general maintenance to upgrade standard industrial bearings or included during the initial pump design to provide excellent operating performance.

Key benefits of the optimised design
*Basic dynamic load has been improved by around 13 per cent by reviewing ball diameter and optimising the internal design of the bearing rings and cage.
*Bearing life has been extended by around 50 per cent in comparison with standard angular contact bearings.
*The improvements in overall bearing design also extend to the bearing cage; by improving the shape and guiding method of the copper alloy cage, the space between the rings and the cage has been optimised, resulting in improved properties of inflow and discharge of lubricant through the bearings.
*The angular contact bearings can now be interchanged with existing AC bearings for ease of mounting.
