Vaassen, December 2016. Bega Special Tools introduces a new industrial bearing heater. Weighing only 2.5 kg, the Betex Cone Heater is a simple heater for bearings and other drive components. The new heater was developed by Bega to meet the increasing demand for a small, affordable alternative to existing larger induction heaters.
Correct fitting of a bearing is essential to maximize its life cycle. Bearing assembly using heat and shrink fitting is a good alternative to hammers, gas burners or oil baths. The Betex Cone Heater is suitable for different diameters. It helps improve the quality of assembly, which increases machine uptime and reduces maintenance costs. An inexpensive and user-friendly device, the Cone Heater is an ideal solution also for small workshops.
The cone-shaped aluminum body weighs only 2.5 kg and ensures fast, even heating. It is suitable for bearings with diameters from 10 mm to 203 mm. Its ability to heat bearings of different sizes, even several at the same time, makes the Cone Heater very versatile.
Bega supplies heaters with or without temperature control. The Betex Cone Heater CHC with thermostat has a keep-warm function and can complete several functions at once. The device will turn off when it reaches the set temperature of 120 °C and switch on again as soon as the temperature drops. This saves fitters the chore of maintaining the bearing’s temperature, freeing them up to perform other tasks in the meantime.
The Cone Heaters were developed in Vaassen in The Netherlands, where they are also produced. Bega manufactures and distributes special tools for safe, cost-effective mounting and dismounting of bearings and other transmission parts. Made in Holland, the special tools are used by MROs and in the production and maintenance departments of OEMs in various sectors of industry, such as mechanical engineering, paper mills, wind energy and the rail, mining and steel industries.
